DGAC project for the airspace of “La Angelina”

Costa Rican airspace is regulated by the DGAC, and the current regulations are contained in the AIP. This Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) is regularly updated by the Air Navigation Services Department of the DGAC. .
Within the national territory there are regulated zones within the airspace according to their classification: dangerous, prohibited and restricted.
Likewise, the so-called "Training Zones" are also included. These airspaces of defined dimensions over the national territory are intended to inform crews and aircraft about air activities in those delimited areas.
There is currently a Paragliding Training Zone called La Roca (Caldera). The AIP alerts other aircraft that paragliders may be flying in the area, but this does not mean it is exclusively for paragliding. The area is delimited by a radius of 3.6 miles and 900 feet (275 meters). This means that paragliders are only authorized to fly below that altitude.
However, there are other projects in process for the "La Angelina" area (aircraft) and also for "Jacó" (paragliders) that the DGAC is working on.
A designated "E" training area (for aircraft) is being prepared in the Paraíso de Cartago zone. This area, defined by an irregular polygon, is located near Juan Viñas to the north and San Francisco to the south. The preliminary design of this specific area does not allow more than six aircraft to be in flight simultaneously. However, as it is an "E" training area (for aircraft) recognized by the AIP (Aircraft Information Publication), it is expected that in the future more training aircraft will be able to regularly conduct flights very close to the "La Angelina" takeoff point.
