Paraglider Manufacturing Delays – Paragliding Pura Vida

As everyone knows, the strict "health" lockdown in Vietnam seems to have come to an end, at least "temporarily," and some paragliding brands have resumed normal production. This doesn't mean that pending orders will be delivered immediately; far from it, the pace and timelines are different. The offshoring of labor in Southeast Asian textile manufacturing has its own particularities. Many workers who were sent home or quarantined don't return to the production line because they've found new jobs elsewhere. Paragliding production requires highly specialized labor, and brands invest significant resources in training these "technical" workers to meet production deadlines. These absences always cause disruptions in production rates. The same thing happens during holiday periods, such as Chinese New Year. Workers take advantage of these dates to travel to their homes in other parts of the country, and there's always a significant percentage who stay with their families and don't return. But that's not all; these brands also have a huge backlog of orders to manufacture, and there's also a huge mess in the country with the operation of all the transport companies.

To provide more details for pilots and distributors, it's important to note that only a few transport companies are currently operating, and they are, of course, overwhelmed. It's nearly impossible to reserve cargo space to ship the finished goods from the factory in Vietnam to Europe or any other destination worldwide. Furthermore, customs and the nationalization processes for cargo and goods are also overloaded, resulting in many shipments being held up.

It's important to understand that there's nothing we can do to change the current situation: the operational reality of transport companies and their management is beyond the manufacturers' control. Patience and a lot of faith are key.
