New Rules for the “La Angelina” Aviary”
In recent years, we have noticed an increase in the number of paragliders visiting our property in Santa Cruz de Turrialba, and given this, we have established the following Property Use Regulations for Paragliders, with the aim of ensuring that paragliding activities continue in as orderly a manner as possible, facilitating harmonious coexistence among all users, enhancing the experience on the property, and preventing any incidents or accidents. Therefore, these regulations are mandatory for any paraglider who wishes to use the property.
Measures that must be followed until the COVID pandemic is under control*:
Capacity will be limited to prevent crowds from forming. Please contact Julio Aguilar at 60349433 to reserve a spot and ensure that no more than 10 riders are present at any one time. Priority will be given to those who have made reservations.
We will try to keep the gate closed, or at least monitor the entrance to the property to prevent crowds of visitors and vehicles from gathering. If you arrive at or leave the property (and especially if Julio or any of the owners are not there), we would appreciate it if you would close the gate behind you.
While on the premises, you must always wear a mask, stay within your social bubble, and maintain a distance of 2 m from other social bubbles.
General Provisions Regarding the Property:
Starting in January 2021, in order to fly at the site, each paraglider must email this signed document to [email protected] and wait for confirmation of receipt. A list of the people who have signed the document will be kept on site.
Starting in January 2021, the site will operate as a flying club. For the period January–December 2021, the annual fee will be 45,000 colones. As a second option, the fee can be paid on a semester basis: January–June will be the first semester, and July–December the second, at a cost of 30,000 colones per semester. This fee will cover facility maintenance and improvements to the site’s infrastructure. In addition, membership cards will be issued to identify club members, and they will receive a discount on the future gastronomic-tourism project.
Please make the annual or semiannual payment to Luis Enrique G., specifying your name and the word “paragliding” in the payment description, and attach the receipt to the email you send along with this signed document. The deposit information is as follows:
i. SINPE Mobile 8405-9751
ii. BAC Account CR 6901 0200 0094 2982 5471
iii. BNCR Account CR 5001 5105 5200 1011 0842If a person does not wish to join the club, they must coordinate with Julio Aguilar to fly at the site and pay a fee of 4,000 colones per day (it is still mandatory to submit this signed document). In this case, the person would not be a club member and would not have access to the club’s benefits.
The contract is valid for one year. This particular contract runs from January through December 2021.
Club members may use the property from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday through Sunday. Non-members should check with Julio Aguilar. Please (especially if no staff member is present) keep the gate closed; it does not have a lock. If for any particular reason we need to close the property on certain days, we will notify you.
If you're new here, you should talk to Julio Aguilar so he can explain how the site works, the risks, safety measures, and where you can land. Keep in mind that the farm is in operation and there are electrified fences; there are also valuable crops that could be damaged if you land on them.
The location is suitable for landing and taking off at the same spot, but if weather conditions require landing in the lower part of the property, you may use the estate’s private road, which is accessed through a large white gate located 300 m east of the site. Please use the road only if strictly necessary, as it is shared with other owners of neighboring properties; please drive slowly and use a 4x4 vehicle.
We want this to be a family-friendly place, so please behave accordingly. SMOKING AND DRUG USE ARE PROHIBITED. Additionally, bringing in coolers or large quantities of alcohol is prohibited.
Flying while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs is prohibited.
This site is intended for paragliders with some experience. You should exercise caution when flying and avoid doing anything that could put your life at risk. You are not permitted to learn or teach paragliding unless it is through the GoFly School.
Any type of sale, especially of food, is prohibited on the property.
Each paraglider must bring their own equipment in good condition: radio (check that the battery is working before takeoff), reserve parachute, harness, helmet, etc. Sharing equipment is not allowed.
Pilots flying EN-C or higher-rated paragliders must hold an SIV course certificate.
By signing this document, each paraglider agrees to engage in paragliding at their own risk, in the most professional manner possible, assuming liability for any damage caused to property, and acknowledging that neither the owners, nor Julio Aguilar, nor the flight site are liable for any accident that may occur during the flight.
Julio Aguilar is responsible for ensuring compliance with the site's regulations and maintaining order on the premises. Please follow his instructions. If you have any issues, please contact him first.
To conduct commercial tandem flights, you must have the express authorization of the owners and meet a series of special requirements.
To conduct non-commercial (recreational) tandem flights, you must notify Julio Aguilar or one of the owners, and you must also have a certificate of completion for the SIV course.
Please attach a copy of the paraglider's ID card or license to the document, showing their signature, name, and photograph. This photograph will be used to create the ID card at a later date.
Finally, please note that we reserve the right to refuse admission. Furthermore, anyone who fails to comply with these rules will be barred from entering the property.
