FLIGHTAWARE - Flight Tracker
How up-to-date is FlightAware's tracking and status data?
The data displayed on FlightAware.com is typically delayed by 30 seconds from real time. The maps show the aircraft's position dynamically, pinning it to its last known position. An aircraft’s position on the map may be 1 to 2 minutes behind real time.
How often is the data updated?
Depending on the data source, updates typically occur one to four times per minute. For registered members who are logged in, pages will be refreshed more frequently.
Where does this data come from?
FlightAware collects, aggregates, and processes data from more than 50 government sources (in Europe, the Americas, and Oceania), dozens of airlines, commercial data providers, and thousands of receivers in FlightAware’s ADS-B flight tracking network. FlightAware’s proprietary algorithms calculate delay estimates and arrival times to provide the most up-to-date and reliable flight tracking data on the Internet. Not all global data sources (e.g., most European data) or satellite/VDL data are available for free on FlightAware.com due to government regulations or commercial agreements. Please contact us if you need international data for commercial purposes.
