This area begins south and southwest of the San Ram\u00f3n canton (including the central district), worsening westward and northwestward over the Tilar\u00e1n mountain range and the Guanacaste mountain range. These ranges, along with their mountain passes, typically experience the highest trade wind\/north wind values in the country, as do the nearby low-lying areas toward the Pacific coast. Strong winds prevail as far south as the North Pacific coast during severe events, as well as in other high-altitude areas of the country, associated mountain passes, and nearby low-lying areas (for example, the north and northeast of the Central Valley, and even reaching areas in the west that are always windy during these months, such as Bel\u00e9n, Alajuela, Escaz\u00fa, and Santa Ana). In events of east-northeast trade winds, the aforementioned areas are also quite affected, but with the peculiarity that the accelerated wind also manages to cover a greater territory in the Central Valley, reaching places like Grecia, Naranjo, and Palmares, and even as far as Atenas and nearby areas bordering the Central Pacific.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"align-self: center;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:15px;margin-bottom:15px;width:100%;\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-1 fusion_builder_column_1_3 1_3 fusion-flex-column\"
